Kelsey N. Strand, DVM
Dr. Kelsey Strand graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010 and has proudly owned Twain Harte Veterinary Hospital since 2015. She is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care for companion animals and is dedicated to creating a supportive, welcoming environment for both clients and her veterinary team.
Dr. Strand’s professional interests include avian and reptile medicine, as well as preventive and pediatric care for puppies and kittens. She is committed to staying current with advances in veterinary medicine to ensure every patient receives the highest standard of care.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Strand enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, boating, and taking advantage of everything the beautiful Sierra foothills have to offer.

Dr. Shelby Temple
Dr. Temple graduated from the Veterinary Medicine Program at University College Dublin in 2019. During her final year of veterinary school, she discovered Twain Harte while searching for the perfect place to begin her career and quickly fell in love with both the hospital team and the beautiful Sierra foothills. Being closer to her grandmother in Vallejo was an added bonus.
Dr. Temple enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a particular passion for spay and neuter surgery. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys hiking, playing the trumpet, gaming, spending time around horses and goats, and hanging out with her dog. She loves exploring new interests and is always excited to take on her next hobby.
